Apple-Pear-Cranberry Sauce

Apple-Pear-Cranberry Sauce:

This is a sweet/tart side dish which compliments any type of meat. You might even want to reduce it and use it as a pork or poultry glaze.

Ingredients: 2-large apples (the tarter varieties are best), 2-medium sized Anjou or Bartlet Pears, 1/2 cup dried cranberries, 1/3 cup water, 1 tsp. cinnamon or apple pic spice.
Preparation: Core, slice, peel apples and pears, then cut into fairly large chunks, place into 2 qt. saucepan. Add 1/2 cup of water and 1 tsp. cinnamon
Over medium heat, begin stirring the fruit, and mix in the cranberries.
Cover and continue cooking, approximately 15-20 minutes, until fork tender. Than take a potato masher and mash them.
